System Requirements
Computer Requirements for Math Worksheets
The following is a list of minimum requirements for using the navigation system and math worksheets that are available from this site. It is suggested that you have more than these requirements where possible to ensure the smooth running of the math worksheets.
- a computer with an active Internet connection (preferably broadband)
- an up to date internet browser (e.g. Internet Explorer 7, Mozilla Firefox 1.5 or above). Web pages may not display cleanly in earlier versions)
- a mouse, keyboard, or other pointer device
- Javascript enabled on your internet browser
- Microsoft Excel with Analysis ToolPak installed * see below
- Adobe Reader (required to read PDF based instructions and for some downloadable resources) To download the latest version of the reader from Adobe, click the icon.

Enabling the Analysis ToolPak
Without the Analysis ToolPak enabled, the majority of worksheets in the package will present with errors.
So, before downloading your first worksheet, take a minute (two if you’re using Internet Explorer) to set up your system to best work with the Random Masters® website. To do so, you’ll need to:
- Enable the Analysis ToolPak in Microsoft Excel and,
- Set Internet Explorer to open Excel outside your web browser (IE users only operating MS Excel 2003 or earlier)

(Note: This only ever needs to be done once.)
For those more experienced with Excel, to enable the Analysis ToolPak, simply follow these steps.
- Open Microsoft Excel
- Click on Tools
- Click on the Add-Ins option in the drop-down box
- Select the options Analysis ToolPak and Analysis ToolPak VBA and click OK or press Enter.
If a message appears requiring you to insert the original Microsoft Office CD, do so, and follow the prompts to continue to load the Analysis Toolpak. This will generally only be required if the "Typical" installation was used to load Microsoft Office. Once the Analysis Toolpak is successfully enabled, the sample worksheets will open without error messages, and you will be able to access the many benefits of Random Masters® mathematics worksheets.
